Gerdean O’Dell has lived in Central New Mexico for the better part of the past 40 years where she, f/k/a Karen O’Dell, retired from a career as legal secretary for the Modrall and the BTB Law Firms and as Judicial Secretary for District Court Judge, The Honorable Frank H. Allen, Jr. Born in rural Pennsylvania and educated at the University of Long Beach, CA, Gerdean is a product of the 60’s. Unable to connect with traditional religion, she became a spiritual seeker; after ten years of investigating various sects of Christianity, Eastern religions and New Age philosophies, her cosmic connection occurred when she found The Urantia Book in 1968. Its supernal teachings are the inspiration for her futuristic novel, The Zooid Mission. Over the years Gerdean has edited many books for other authors but since her retirement in 2006, she has been focused on her own metaphysical fiction and non-fiction. She has been a prolific Transmitter/ Receiver [T/R] (“Celestial Correspondent”) since 1993. Angus Bowen is a Michigander who attended Prairie Bible College in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, and served in the Air Force as a Chaplain’s Assistant. He was Director of the Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development for the City of Montrose, Colorado, but his life-long passion was as a radio broadcaster. Angus found The Urantia Book in 1972 and in 1998 came across the Teaching Mission [TeaM], which is a movement that emerged out of the Urantia Book movement. It takes its place in the myriad movements comprising New Age sociology. These many groups -- with their theologies, ideologies, politics and aspirations -- produce articles which are networked around the world in a thriving communications gridwork. Angus networks through the lightenlife egroup feature of Harp of God.org. The two met on-line and were wed in the rose garden of the the University of Vancouver at the International Urantia Book Conference in Vancouver, Canada, in 1999, surrounded by Teaching Mission friends – many of whose photos are featured on this site, with links where applicable. In 2000, Angus was ordained as Reverend Bowen by Pastor Daniel Megow with the Church Within. Angus also serves on the Council of the Association for Light and Life where Gerdean is the newsletter Editor. O’Dell-Bowen Enterprises has produced three books: Teacher Tomas’ Fruits of the Spirit (1999); The Zooid Mission (2002); and Spirits of Promise: Seven Chakra Vortices and Seven Adjutant Mind-Spirits (2010). All three have been published by the Harp of God Foundation. In addition, hundreds of Gerdean’s articles have been published through the Nordan Symposium of the Daynal Institute and are archived in the Teaching Mission archives.
