O'DELL BOWEN HOME

Georgia O’Keeffee and Orville Cox
From Ansel Adams’ photo, circa 1938

The models for this work are none other than Miss O’Keeffee and her guide to the southwest, Orville Cox, from the Ansel Adams famous photograph which was featured in the Albuquerque Journal at the time of Miss O’Keeffee’s death. The photo was so dynamic, I opted to try to duplicate in oils her mischievousness and his character. (39” x 40”)
